REPORT: FULHAM PAY £5M TO SIGN STRIKER SPURS ONCE HAD £36M BIY OPTION FOR

Fulham confirmed on transfer deadline day that they had agreed on a deal with Benfica to sign former Tottenham striker Carlos Vinicius. After finishing the 2019/20 season as the top scorer in the Portuguese top flight, Tottenham snapped up Vinicius on loan for the 2020/21 season. However, the centre-forward did not get too many opportunities in the Premier League with the majority of his 22 appearances coming in the Europa League and cup competitions (Tranfermarkt).

Vinicius still had a decent goal return during his time in North London, finding the back of the net 10 times and providing three assists (TransferMarkt). Spurs had the chance to sign the striker for £36m after his loan spell (SkySports). However Spurs chose against taking up the option to sign the Brazilian permanently last summer and he spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he notched up 14 goal contributions (TransferMarkt). FULHAM IN TALKS TO SIGN MATIC

Newly promoted Premier League team Fulham are one of the clubs in talks to sign Manchester United midfielderNemanjaMatic as a free agent this summer. Matic will be a free agent when his Manchester United contract ends next month. The interest of the Cottagers in Matic was confirmed by journalist Jonathan Stranger.


Fulham would be making a big transfer coup if they can sign Matic who has also been linked with a move to the Italian Serie A. AS Roma and Juventus have been mentioned as a possible destination for the Serbian midfielder when he leaves Manchester United in a matter of few weeks. FULHAM CLOSE TO SEALING TRANSFER AGREEMENT

Championship side Fulham are close to recruiting teenage forward Martial Godo from Isthmian Premier League side Margate Town, as per a report from The Athletic. The 18-year-old currently plies his trade in the seventh tier of English football after making a real impression in non-league football – and is thought to have caught the eye of scouts at Craven Cottage as they moved quickly to bring him in on trial.


This spell in the English capital has proven to be fruitful for the teenager, scoring two goals in a week against Stoke City and Colchester United for the Under-23s and doing enough to earn himself a permanent stay at the current second-tier leaders. According to this report from The Athletic, he is set to sign on the dotted line on professional terms at Marco Silva’s side, a major boost for the forward who is set to take a meteoric rise up the English footballing pyramid after grabbing his opportunity with both hands. Lyon striker Moussa Dembele has emerged as a transfer target for Newcastle United who are in the relegation zone on the Premier League table. The interest of the Magpies in the former Fulham player was confirmed by popular English news outlet Daily Mail.

Fulham are reportedly leading the race for highly rated Liverpool winger Harry Wilson. This is according to the publication from popular media outlet Goal which stated that the Reds want to sell the player this summer after several loan spells.

FULHAM RUNNING OUT OF TIME

West London giants Fulham are running out of time in their quest to avoid the drop in the Premier League this season after they conceded a late equaliser in their away game at Arsenal at the weekend. They were on course to secure only their sixth league win of the season before the Gunners struck with a stoppage time equaliser. Arsenal substitute scored with virtually the last kick of the match.

Fulhamstarted the weekend six points adrift of the final safety place occupied by Newcastle United having played a game more than the Magpies. This was before the Magpies beat 10-man West Ham 3-2 at home in dramatic fashion to move nine points ahead of Fulham on the Premier League standings thus leaving the Cottagers to focus on both Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion who are seven points better than them.

FULHAM CONFIDENT THEIR CUP FIXTURE AGAINST QPR WILL GO AHEAD

 

Fulham Football Club are certain that Saturday’s FA Cup Clash with Queens Park Rangers will still be played as they continue to combat the coronavirus outbreak at the club. Fulham have seen their last two fixtures postponed following a number of their players testing positive for the virus in recent times.

However, it is a must that clubs play their FA Cup third-round ties which have been slated to hold this weekend or forget about it.
